this is a selection of photos i took during the burning process to capture the stages of the burning chair.

here i have put plants in and around the sides and back section, also threw the seat itself to mimic the plants power but with some natural beauty.
i would have liked to have organised this earlier so i could encourage some natural plant growth and weathering as this would have created a much more in-depth and impressive over all look and feel.

This is the extended nailed area but with some patches to show the hole pattern, which i think changes the look and feel of the chair by creating this dark look to it but still quite uniform.

The up-scaled destruct/ construct process.

I have feathered the whole front of the front two legs including some of the leg detailing, i think that the feathered wood will char well if i burn the hole chair after i have done everything to it, the texturing of the wood as it is is quite light but is still very visible so i think it will work well with the other things i am going do to it. 

I also experimented with some plant life and put the roots underneath the seat panel and the steams around and wrapped around the side and up the side back strut,

I like where this idea is going but i think it needs more development, i think if i have the plants coming threw the seat panel it will show the destructive power and then have a lot more vines in general it will add to the look far more.

I think that all the ideas i have been playing around with need some more development and upscaling to achieve the desired effect of both destruction and construction. If i put all these ideas together and then burn the chair but still taking high quality documentative photos as each up scale is done it will make a much greater piece of work.

I really wanted to try out the burning so i just experimented with the top corner of the back brace which turned out really well, the charcoal effect creates a really interesting matt effect and there was also a small proportion of the wood smouldered away so changed the line of the back brace.

I wanted to then add to the chair a little so i found some old fence panelling and ruffly nailed it tot the back of the chair as i felt that the chair as a whole was feeling very exterior and structural but i'm undecided if this defiantly works and if it is worth perusing.
