This i a card cut copy of my full set of skull slices with all the changes needed to be ready for larger production.

laser cuting

It has taken many weeks of drawing out my skull designs and then converting that to a digital format. From the digital version i have been able to produce wide range of models that have lead me to many many changes to the designs to get a finished working selection of skull designs.

With this larger copy i have come up with a variety of problems with the material and discovered that it is not the correct size it needs to be and has shown me that i need to scale up to fit a bar.
Here i have used a black light as i know in some night clubs there are black lights. But it does not produce the room lighting quality, doesn't create shadow well and you cannot see the clear acrylic well.
The light being used is a direct spot light which highlights the acrylic but is too powerful for shadows.
This is using two light sources again but spread out further which lights up the space whilst creating shadow.
The light is directly above the piece to see how the light would pass threw the acrylic and highlight each line.

test lighting

I have been looking though my research and playing around with lighting techniques, the first is with a light box which give the most simular effect as from a x-ray light board.
The second is a singular light source but with a yellow light bulb that i would change.
The third has two light sources and creates a strong shadow that is something that i want to keep.

A basic example of a bar with my skull chandelier in it to get a better look at what it will look like.

Light bulbs

I have been looking at a variety of light bulbs as i need to start considering how my chandelier is going to be lit. I want to try and stick with a clinical feel so i want to use a white producing light source.
