From this i tried out the nail idea i was inspired to do but the pencil top bench, I marked out where the nails should go and hammered them into the chair to a relative shallow depth so they could be pulled out but sill in the wood deep enough to not fall out with a light nock.

 From this i wanted to actually take some of the nails out so the damaged wood could be shown and this came out with a very interesting pattern work where the holes were relatively uniform but not as expected.
